Texas Bluebonnet Book Award

Every year, students in 3rd through 5th grades all across the great state of Texas vote on their favorite Bluebonnet Book.  Any student who has read 5 or more Bluebonnet Books may vote.  This is run entirely on the honor system, and there is nothing students have to turn in to prove they have read five books.  The book that receives the most student votes will be named the 2024-2025 Bluebonnet Award winner. Voting usually begins in early January and ends mid-February. Dates will be updated as the information becomes available. Also, a direct link to the Texas Library Association's digital voting form will be provided when voting begins.

Mills' Bluebonnet Book Breakfast

To be a part of Mills' Bluebonnet Book breakfast, students in 3rd through 5th grades must read 10 books, write summaries for each book read, and turn the form in to Ms. Rasmussen by early February in order to attend the Bluebonnet breakfast in the Mills' library. At the breakfast, the winner of the Texas Bluebonnet Book Award will be revealed, and students will have a raucous time talking about their favorite Bluebonnet books.
