Greetings to our Mills families from my family!

My name is Angela Frageman and I am the proud Principal of Joe Dan Mills, Jr.  Elementary. It is with great pride that I welcome you to the Mills Community. We believe that ALL Mills Mountain Lions can learn and achieve at high levels. Our goal is to ensure that each student becomes successful academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. We focus on the core values of Respect, Kindness, Compassion, Resilience, Courage, and Integrity.  Every student and staff member comes to campus daily to support one another and work to achieve the core values listed above. 

A little bit about me: I have lived in Austin for over 30 years. I was born in Houston but headed to Austin on my 8^th birthday. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Applied Learning and Development from the College of Education- Hook 'em Horns! I have taught Kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, served as a campus Reading Interventionist, and assistant principal before taking the helm at Mills. I am close to finishing two decades serving Austin ISD as a proud teacher and administrator, and I'm still going strong!  It is an honor to build such strong relationships with the diverse and amazing families in the Mills/Circle C neighborhood.

My two kids keep me busy when I'm not working, and my husband is an educator in his own right, coaching and teaching tennis to children and adults. As a family, we love travelling, spending time at the beach or the pool, watching movies together, and attending Austin FC and UT Longhorn games. 

I welcome you to our amazing campus, and I look forward to partnering with you on your child's educational journey. At Mills, we believe that every child has the potential to change the world and make a positive impact on their school and community and the adults on campus are here to help make this a reality!
